Taking care of yourself makes you feel and look better. When you look and feel better, good things happen to you because it all begins with you. Beyond these words lies a deeper truth. When you ask God, who chose you, to take care of you and love you more than you love yourself, you are also being shielded from things invisible to the human eye. Even when you feel misunderstood, people may misinterpret you, especially those you expected to support you, like family members. Life can be unpleasant but stay calm because God is watching over you.
How do you find ways to remind yourself of that peace when things get tough?
Gratitude: Whenever things feel overwhelming, I try to shift my focus onto things I’m grateful for—no matter how small. It’s amazing how quickly it can change your mindset when you remind yourself of what’s still good in your life.
Self-Compassion: It's easy to get caught up in self-criticism when things don’t go as planned, but being kind to myself during tough moments is key. A gentle reminder that I'm doing the best I can, even when things feel out of control, helps me stay grounded.
Affirmations: Reminding myself of truths, like “I am enough,” or “I am loved,” can be very grounding. Especially when the world feels chaotic, repeating these words brings a sense of calm.
